Social Event

The social event for RC2018 will be held at the National Space Center in Leicester. This will take place on Thursday 13th September (see Programme) between 19.00 and 22.30, with travel to and from the venue via coach.

Upon arrival, the exhibition will be open for guests to explore the hundreds of interactive exhibits and real space hardware. Guests will then be invited into the 192 seat Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium, where they will be taken to the edge of the Universe and back by a multimedia animated show, lasting approximately 25 minutes.

Next, there will be the Invited Talk Discrete Space-Time-State Physics by Edward F. Fredkin (Distinguished Career Professor, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA). For more information on this talk, see Invited Talks.

After this, it's time for a three-course sit down meal which is served in the central point to the space exhibition, the 'hub'.
After dinner, the exhibition is open for guests to explore again, provided time permits.
